News-Herald, COMBINED PUBLIC NOTICE City Of Mentor CDBG Program Fiscal Year 2015 Proposed Activities to be funded and previously unspent funds to be reprogrammed. The City of Mentor for FY2015 is estimated to receive through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program grant funds in the amount of $169,218. A public hearing will be held on May 25, 2015 for the purpose of seeking community input regarding the use of these funds. Additional comments may be made until June 12, 2015 regarding the following activities to be funded: Activity 1: The Ecumenical Shelter Network of Lake County, Families Moving Forward, amount: $2,500. Purpose: To provide funds for the operation of a day-time drop-in shelter for homeless families with children. Activity 2: The Ecumenical Shelter Network of Lake County, Project Hope, amount: $2,500. Purpose: To provide funds for staff costs for the operation of a homeless shelter. Activity 3: Mentor Special Elders Program, amount: $6,140. Purpose: To provide funds for day programs designed for persons 80 years of age or older. Activity 4: Lake County Free Clinic (Medical), amount:$4,000. Purpose: To provide funds for medical clinic services for low and moderate income persons. Activity 5: Lake County Free Clinic (Dental), amount: $2,000. Purpose: To provide funds for dental clinic services for low and moderate income persons. Activity 6: 211 Call Center, amount: $3,000. Purpose: To provide funding for the operation of a call center for persons in crisis situations. Activity 7: Crossroads - roof replacement, amount: $10,000. Purpose: To provide funding for building repairs at a facility providing services to LMI clientele. Activity 8: Extended Housing – residential building maintenance: $2,500 Purpose: To provide funds to assist in the repair and upkeep of a residential facility serving handicapped persons Activity 9: Western Reserve Community Development Corporation, amount $53,200. Purpose: To provide funding for the Single-Family Housing Rehabilitation program. Activity 10: Mentor Economic Assistance Corp., amount $10,000. Purpose: To provide funds for the operation of a small business loan fund. Activity 11: Senior Drainage Assistance Program, amount: $50,000. Purpose: To provide funds to alleviate poor drainage conditions on residential property owned and occupied by seniors. ADMINISTRATIVE ACTIVITIES: Activity 12: Fair Housing Resource Center, amount $15,500. Purpose: To provide funding for Fair Housing Services provided to the City of Mentor and residents. Activity 13: Program Administration, amount $7,875. Purpose: To provide funds for the administration of the Community Development Block Grant program. Unspent Funds in the amount of $94,685 are proposed to be reprogrammed into the following activities: • Handicapped sidewalk ramps - $40,000 • Beacon Health roof repairs - $1,785 • Single Family Housing Rehabilitation Program - $27,900 • Small Business Loan Program - $25,000 PUBLIC HEARING - The City of Mentor will hold a public hearing, the purpose of which will be to receive public input and citizen comments regarding the use of FY2015 CDBG funds and previously unspent funds prior to the submission of the FY2015 CDBG Action Plan to HUD. The public hearing will be held on May 25, 2015 at 4:00pm in Mentor Municipal Center, 8500 Civic Center Boulevard, Mentor, Ohio.
