News-Herald, LEGAL NOTICE TO BIDDERS Sealed BIDS will be received by THE BOARD OF LAKE COUNTY COMMISSIONERS, in and for Lake County, Ohio, at their offices in the Lake County Administration Center, 105 Main Street, Painesville, Ohio up to the hour of 11:00 a.m. local time on Wednesday, April 29, 2015, and read publicly thereafter in the Commissioners’ Chambers, for the following: ROADWAY MATERIALS 2015 – Lake County Engineer’s Road Department Plans, specifications or an itemized list of supplies, facilities or equipment, estimated quantities and Instructions to Bidders can be obtained and reviewed at the office of the Lake County Engineer, 550 Blackbrook Road, Painesville, OH 44077 during weekday business hours from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Each BID must be accompanied by a bid guarantee in the form of an original Bid bond or by a Certified Check, Cashiers Check, or Money Order, in the amount of five percent (5%) of the amount BID. Such guarantee shall be made payable to or in favor of the BOARD OF LAKE COUNTY COMMISSIONERS, and will be held as a guarantee that in the event the BID is accepted and a contract awarded to the BIDDER, the Contract will be duly executed and its performance properly secured. The successful bidder will be required to execute the contract within ten (10) days after the award to him/her. In case of failure to execute the contract as stated, the bidder shall be considered to have abandoned the contract and is then liable for the difference between his/her bid and the next lowest bid, not to exceed ten percent (10) of the amount bid. Said bid bond will be returned if the bid is rejected, and if the bid is accepted, will be returned upon successful execution of the contract. No bidder shall be eligible to be awarded the contract to which this Notice or Bid Specifications apply, if the bidder is listed on the Auditor of State’s Database as having a “Finding of Recovery” as that term is defined in R.C. 9.24. Bids shall be subject to the conditions that the right is reserved to hold bids for a period not longer than sixty (60) days after the date of bid opening and/or to award the contract at any time during said period. Bidders may submit bids for one or all roadway materials being bid; however, EVERY item under each material type must be bid for that material type bid to be considered complete. Suppliers must furnish Material Safety Data Sheets for any hazardous substance brought onto County property. Bids shall be in a sealed envelope addressed to the Board of Lake County Commissioners, Lake County Administration Center, 105 Main Street, Painesville, OH 44077, and marked “BID FOR ROADWAY MATERIALS 2015 – LAKE COUNTY ENGINEER’S ROAD DEPARTMENT”, and must contain all documents required to be submitted. Lake County reserves the right to reject any and all BIDS or to increase or decrease or omit any item or items. The contract shall be awarded to the lowest and best BIDDER. Each bid must contain the full name of every person or company interested in the same. The Lake County Commissioners reserves the right to waive any informalities or irregularities in the BIDS.
