News-Herald, REQUEST FOR LETTERS OF INTEREST FOR BRIDGE CONSTRUCTION OBSERVATION SERVICES BOARD OF LAKE COUNTY COMMISSIONERS LAKE COUNTY, OH Vrooman Road and Bridge Improvements PID#5669 and PID#85131 Pursuant to Ohio Revised Code Sections 307.86 and 9.33 to 9.333, Notice is hereby given to any interested firm providing Bridge Construction Observation Services that the Board of Lake County Commissioners is seeking Letters of Interest for construction observation services for Vrooman Road and Bridge Improvements – Perry and Leroy Townships, OH (ODOT and FWHA) described below: Lake County is locally administering a new high level bridge to be constructed over the Grand River (PID#5669), and an included road improvement project from the bridge south to Interstate 90 (PID#85131), to be constructed starting in winter 2014. The funding for the project will be local and Federal STP. The project includes but is not limited to a new high level bridge, a pedestrian bridge, a new road from SR84 to River Road, improvement of the existing roadway north of Interstate 90 to the new bridge, intersection improvements at Lane Road, plus other associated work as required by the project plans and specifications and/or the County Engineer. The project Bridge Construction Observer will be responsible for all reporting requirements and records as required by ODOT and FWHA regulations. It should be noted that the record keeping on this project is of special importance. The records may be audited by the offices of OMB and Federal Highway Administration. The successful consultants must demonstrate knowledge of the requirements and the ability to properly administer said requirements. Project bridge plans were prepared by Michael Baker Jr. Inc., 1228 Euclid Avenue, Suite 1050, Cleveland, Ohio 44115. Project roadway improvement plans were prepared by Burgess and Niple Inc., 100 W. Erie St., Painesville, Ohio 44077. Plans and specifications may be viewed at the Lake County Engineer’s Office, 550 Blackbrook Road Painesville, Ohio 44077 between 8:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
